Province Pairs Results

The High Road was contested by Yester and East Linton with Yester running out the winners with a 7 - 2 victory. This is the first time that Yester have won the Pairs Trophy, although they have taken the Low Road but not since 2012/13.  This was a well deserved win for Walter Scott and Douglas Scott (who was also in the 12/13 team.

The Low Road saw Haddington defeating Athelstaneford 3 - 2 in a low scoring game.

The Waldie is coming home !

Congratulations to all our members that took part in this years Waldie Griffith Competition.  Scottish Curling have taken their time to produce the results, but WE WON.  The margin of victory was also impressive with a whopping 52 shots up (after 4 games).  Our nearest rival was our old foes, the Borders Province with 32 shots up.  The trophy is usually presented at the RCCC AGM thereafter, hopefully, the Province Committee will fill the trophy and bring it round to the clubs ! (Well, we can all dream.)

Province Knockout

The semi finals saw the holders, Haddington, being comprehensively beaten by Team Aberlady.  The other game saw  Dirleton triumph over Yester.

After a short break, it was back onto the ice for the victorious teams.  Aberlady got off to a strong start with twos in the first and third ends with Dirleton only taking a single in end two.  This gave Aberlady a 4-1 scoreline after three ends.  From there, it was one way traffic with Dirleton taking the remaining four ends.  It was still a tight match with them only managing to take more than a single in one of these ends.

The final score was 6 - 4 to Dirleton.

Big Congratulations to Messrs Harvey (snr), Waddell, Anderson and Elder who will progress to the National Province Championships in Greenacres, next season.
